Abstract

Forest is an ecosystem unit in the form of a stretch of land containing biological natural resources which has many functions, one of which is that the forest plays a role in storing and absorbing water which will flow it into rivers through the watershed system (DAS). diversity of vegetation that grows along the riverbank. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of vegetation and the stability of the ecosystem on the banks of the Roto River, Labuan Toposo Village, Labuan District, Donggala Regency. This research was conducted on July to October 2022, carried out using the method of systematically plotted paths in the Upper, Middle and Lower parts of the river, with a path length of 50 m. Data collection was carried out using the field exploration method. The results
showed that the condition of the ecosystem on the banks of the Roto River was stable. The index of
diversity of vegetation on the banks of the Roto River falls into the criteria of medium - high, with an
H' value at the tree level of "2.705", at the pole level it has an H' "2.377", at the sapling level it has
an H' "2.665", then at The growth rate of the undergrowth seedlings has an H' "3.233" value, this
indicates that the abundance of individuals of each type is evenly distributed and the condition of the
ecosystem on the banks of the Roto River is still relatively stable.
