Abstract

The use of forest resources carried out by communities around the forest proves the existence of interaction between communities and forests. Forms of community interaction with forest resources can be influenced by people's perceptions of forest management. Aims to describe community perceptions of village forest management and to find out the characteristic relationships society has with perceptions. This research was conducted from April to June 2022. Technique the sampling used is purposive A total of 45 respondents. Data collection of this study was carried out by filling out a questionnaire with a scale likert (1-3-5), by conducting in-depth interviews (in-depth interviews) and open-ended. The results showed that the community's perception of Salua village forest management was included in the high category. It can be influenced by a society that has realized the importance of goals and the benefits of village forests as one of the forestry systems to manage properly and correctly So that it gets the goal to continue to maintain forest sustainability and be able to prosper the community. Village Forest Management Institutions (LPHD) and local communities play an active role in forest monitoring to prevent destruction around forest areas. Lack of socialization or counseling to the community. The characteristics of respondents have a strong relationship with public perceptions that is, at the level of education and income.
