Abstract

Lore Lindu National Park is one of the areas in Sulawesi that has very high bird diversity. Of the 464 bird species found in Sulawesi, 249 species can be found in this area, including 81 endemic species. One type of natural habitat for birds in Lore Lindu National Park is the riparian zone. This habitat has unique characteristics dominated by forest vegetation and plants that are influenced by the presence of water so the microhabitat conditions are different from other habitat types. This study aims to determine the species composition and diversity of birds on the Saluki River riparian zone. The study was conducted in August 2024, with an analysis that included the species diversity index, species evenness index, and dominance index. The results showed that in the Saluki River riparian zone, there were 13 bird species belonging to 11 families, with 4 categories of food types: fruiteating birds, insectivorous birds, nectivore birds, and omnivorous birds. There are also 5 species of birds endemic to Sulawesi and 2 protected species. The value of bird species diversity in this area reached 2.2789, which is included in the moderate category. The species evenness index is 0.888, with 5 dominant bird species (38%).
