POTENSI DAN PEMANFAATAN HUTAN MANGROVE DIKELURAHAN KABONGA BESAR KECAMATAN BANAWA KABUPATEN DONGGALA
Abstract
One of the existing mangrove forests in Central Sulawesi is in the Kabonga Besar Village, Banawa District, Donggala Regency. The community around the mangrove forest area uses it to meet their living and economic needs. This study aims to determine the potential and utilization of mangrove forests which was carried out for 3 months, starting from june to august 2020 which took place in the Kabonga Besae Village, Banawa District, Donggala Regency. The method used in this research is primary data and secondary data, sampling potential uses line plot sampling, namely measuring tree diameter, tree height, and the number of trees contained in each plot, this measurement is also carried out for saplings and seedlings. Utilization is done by taking a sample of respondents from the surrounding species which has 100,15% for tree height, 234,42%, for sapling level and 97,62% for seedling level. Meanwhile, the lowest Important Value Index is Avecennia lanata for tree growth rate of 55,69%, the sapling growth rate is 65,58%, and the seedling rate is 52,38%. The use of mangrove forests is mostly used for boating, looking for firewood, fishing and planting mangrove seedlings to be planted on vacent land.
