Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a very high diversity of plant and animal species, so it is often referred to as one of the world's mega-biodiversity centers. The biodiversity includes 10% flowering flora, 12% mammals, 17% bird species, 25% fish species and 15% insects. In addition, Indonesia is the second country that has the most types of insects in the world, with more than 2000 species spread throughout the archipelago. The purpose of this study was to calculate the diversity of butterfly species in the Grand Forest Park (Tahura) area of Central Sulawesi Province. This research was carried out in Pombewe Village. This research will take place from June 2021 to July 2021. The method used in three types of habitats, namely using the line cross-section method for each type of land cover, one transect line with a length of 500m with a distance of 25m (12, 5m to the right and 12.5m to the left). Analysis of the data used is the Shannon and Wienner species diversity index. The results of the research in the field found 43 species of butterflies spread over three types of land cover studied in the vicinity of the Great Forest Park (TAHURA). Diversity of Butterfly Species in Pombewe Village belongs to the medium to high category. In the type of land cover in secondary forest, there are 28 types of butterflies with a value (H') of 2.19 (medium), on the type of bush land, there are 30 types of butterflies, the value of (H') is 2.53 (medium). ), and on the type of community garden land there are 43 types of butterflies with a value (H') of 3.13 (height).
