Abstract

Village Forest is a state forest managed by the village and used for the welfare of the village. Village Forest is managed to realize fair and sustainable forest management. Namo Village forest is one of the Village Forests established in 2010 It is important to know the role of extension workers in managing Namo village forest.  The analysis used in this research is a quantitative descriptive analysis with a Likert scale. The Likert scale is used to measure the attitudes, opinions, and perceptions of a person or group of people about social phenomena.  The results showed that the role of extension workers in the management of the Namo Village Forest is in a very high category and the role of extension workers is very important for the management activities of the Namo Village Forest. The optimal role of extension workers in Village Forest management activities includes facilitating the determination of work areas, facilitating the inventory of forest potential, facilitating the preparation of RKPS and RKT plans, facilitating monitoring of forest utilization, facilitating the establishment of KUPS, facilitating KUPS monitoring, facilitating the support of facilities and infrastructure and training to increase product added value, and facilitating product marketing. The role of extension workers that has not been optimal in Village Forest management activities is to facilitate access to capital, facilitate the improvement of KUPS classes, and facilitate institutional strengthening training.
