Abstract

This study aims to describe the potential form of conflict in the use of community settlements around the forest area of ​​Sigi Regency. This research uses descriptive quantitative exploratory data analysis model. The population in this study is the people of Balumpewa village, Sigi district. The sample in this study used the snowboll sampling technique, RaTa and AGATA. The number of respondents is not limited and interviews are conducted by determining in advance the people and agencies involved. The tools used in collecting data are writing instruments, cameras, and recorders. The data in this study were obtained by giving a questionnaire. After analyzing the data. The researcher found that the characteristics of the respondents studied included the age of most or 36.76% of the people aged 31-41 years, at the age of 41-50 as many as 22 people at the age of 20-30 years as many as 11 people while those aged 50 years and over were 10 people. , the education level of respondents in the category of not graduating to elementary school is at most 48 people or 70.58% while junior and high school are 17 people or 25% are diploma or bachelor's as many as 3 people or 4.42%, the type of work of respondents as farmers 49 people or 72 0.05%, traders as many as 6 people or 8.84% farm laborers 9 people or 13.23% and civil servants 2 people or 2.94%,. On the other hand, the use of this quantitative descriptive method is very effective in identifying potential conflicts over land use for community settlements around the forest area of ​​Sigi Regency.
