Abstract
The use of forest resources carried out by communities around the forest proves the interaction between the community and the forest. The forms of community interaction with forest resources can be influenced by community perceptions of forest management, aiming to describe community perceptions of village forest management and to find out the characteristic relationship of the community with perception. This research was conducted from May to June 2022. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling of 45 respondents. The data collection of this study was carried out through filling out a questionnaire with a likert scale (1-3-5), by conducting in-depth interviews (indepeth interviews) and being open. The results showed that the community's perception of Salua village forest management is included in the high category. This can be influenced by communities who have realized the importance of the purpose and benefits of village forests as one of the forestry systems to manage properly and correctly so that they have the goal of maintaining forest sustainability and being able to prosper the community. Village Forest Management Agencies (LPHD) and local communities play an active role in forest monitoring to prevent destruction around forest areas.
