Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the population and distribution pattern of the Sulawesi Tuwur (Eudynamys Melanorhyncha). Held for 3 months, from May to July 2021, at the Pasoso Island Wildlife Reserve, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi. The method used in this research is using the Point Count method which is a method that determines the radius of the counting point as the basis for bird observation, using the Morisita Distribution Index analysis which is used to determine the distribution of birds and using population estimation analysis to find the population density of tuwur birds. Sulawesi. The results of the study on the population density of the Sulawesi tuwur in the Pasoso Island Wildlife Reserve in the old secondary habitat type of 5,4243 ind/km² and the garden habitat type of 7,2849 ind/km², the high value of population density was obtained in the garden habitat type with the number of 7,2849 ind/km². This is due to supportive environmental conditions such as climate, temperature, food, the adaptability of a species of wildlife, interactions between individuals and between species.
