Abstract

Mataue village is a village whose people mostly work as farmers and still depend on nature, especially in health medicine still using medicinal herbs. According to the beliefs of their ancestors since the generations, they use medicinal plants in the yard and in the forest area. Medicinal plants in the mataue village that can be obtained depend heavily on their ability to survive in their habitat.  The purpose of this study is to find out the types of medicinal plants used, the way of processing, the parts of medicinal plants used, the place of medicinal plants and how to use medicinal plants by the people of Mataue Village. This research was carried out for 2 months, namely in October to December 2020 in Mataue Village of Kulawi District of Sigi Regency. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive research method, using the formula slovin (in Sugiono, 2007). As for the respondents as many as 34 people, consisting of 1 person as a key informant (key informant) namely village shamans, the rest are people who use medicinal plants. The results of the study found 26 types of medicinal plants from 21 families that were used by the people of Mataue Village as traditional medicine. Based on the place of medicinal plants can be grouped into 3 groups, namely yards, gardens and forests, while the parts used are, leaves, fruit, rhizomes, roots, sap and skin. Used by drinking, used as diapers, wrapped, dripped, thickened and eaten. The most widely used method is by drinking.
