Abstract

Ecotourism is a form of tourist travel to natural areas carried out with the aim of conserving the
environment and preserving the life and welfare of the local population. Originally, ecotourism was
carried out by nature-loving tourists who wanted the tourist destination to be intact and sustainable,
while the culture and welfare of the people were maintained. The aim of the research is to find out the
strategy for developing ecotourism in the tourist area of Pasir Putih Beach, Tete B Village, Ampana Tete
District, Tojo Una-una Regency.This research will be carried out from April to May 2023 at the white
sand natural tourist attraction, Tete B Village, Ampana Tete District, Tojo Una-una Regency. This
research uses a sample size of 31 respondents to represent the research objectives. In this research, the
data analysis used is SWOT analysis to identify factors systematically to formulate company strategy.
This analysis is based on logic that can maximize strengths and opportunities, but together it can
minimize weaknesses and threats. Based on the results of the SWOT analysis, which is divided into 2
internal and external factors. Internal factors, Strengths (Strength) The white sand beach area is very
supportive of being a tourist attraction, Weaknesses (Weakness) There is still a lack of available
infrastructure at tourist locations. External factors: Opportunities (Opportunity) The existence of white
sand beaches can increase the income of local communities. Threats (Threat) The impact of tourist
activities (garbage) can damage the convenience of white sand beaches. Strategies for developing good
white sand beach ecotourism can be carried out with several strategies: 1) Providing opportunities for
local communities to play a role in developing ecotourism: 2) management must be carried out jointly
by managers in the white sand beach tourist area with the aim of developing white sand beach
ecotourism.
