Abstract

The nutrient content of banana stems is 1.80% N; 2.02% P; 0.05% K. POC of banana stems has a role
in the vegetative growth period of plants thus helping the availability of soil Phosphorus (P) which is
useful in the process of flowering and fruit formation. The purpose of this study was to determine the
effect of various concentrations of liquid organic fertilizer based on banana stalk on the growth of sea
sengon seedlings (Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Nielsen). This study used a completely randomized
design (CRD) method, which consisted of 5 levels of treatment, namely M0 = No Treatment (control),
M1 = 950 ml of water + 5% banana stem liquid organic fertilizer, M2 = 900 ml of water + stem liquid
organic fertilizer. bananas 10%, M3 = 850 ml of water + liquid organic fertilizer of banana stems 15%,
M4 = 800 ml of water + liquid organic fertilizer of banana stems 20%. The five treatments were
replicated with 10 replicates each, so that the number of seeds required was 50 samples. Analysis of
the variables observed was the increase in plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, shoot-root
ratio and seed quality index. To find out the difference between treatments, a 5% significant difference
test (BNT) was carried out. the M2 treatment was significantly different from the M3, M4, and M1
treatment. The treatment that gave the best effect on the growth of sea sengon seedlings was the M2
treatment (900 ml water + 10% banana stem organic fertilizer), on all parameters with an average
height increase = 11.8 cm, an increase in P2 diameter = 0.73 mm , the increase in the number of leaves
= 5.8 strands, the ratio of shoots to roots = 1.02 g and seed quality index 0.37 g.
