Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the community structure of fruit-eating birds while the
usefulness of this study is expected to be used as information and reference material as well as a
reference for further research. This research lasted for 1 month in June 2021. This study used the IPA -
count (Index) method. Point of Abundance) with analysis of Relative Abundance Index (IKR),
Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index (H'), Simpson's Dominance Index (D), Evenness Index (E) and
Species Richness Index (R). In the Pasoso Island Wildlife Reserve, Donggala Regency, Central
Sulawesi, there are 7 species of birds representing 6 families. The relative index for primary forest is 4
low categories, 2 medium categories and 1 high category. The gardens are 3 low categories and 3 high
categories. Shrubs are 2 low categories, 1 medium category and 2 high categories. The diversity index
(H') is 2.749434 for primary forest habitat type, 1.51608 for garden habitat type, 1.326528 for shrub
habitat type. dominance (D) of bird species is classified as moderate from the three habitat types:
primary forest, gardens, and shrubs. The evenness index (E) of bird species in the research location is
quite high, namely primary forest 1.41293 of 7 species, gardens of 0.84614 of 6 species and shrubs of
0.824218 of 5 species. The species richness index (R) of fruit-eating birds is classified as very low,
indicating that the area is less able to provide food for fruit-eating birds
