PERTUMBUHAN SEMAI KEMIRI (Aleurites moluccana (L). Willd) PADA MEDIA TUMBUH YANG DITAMBAHKAN BEBERAPA JENIS ARANG
Abstract
Cultivation of hazelnut plants generatively still encounters many obstacles, among others, the
availability of sources of planting materials (seeds) that are affected by the seasons, requires a wide
propagation place, the seeds produced are limited and require a long process and time. To support the quality and quality of good seeds need to be supported by good quality planting media, improvement of planting media can be done with the addition of organic materials such as charcoal. Charcoal in addition to fertilizing the soil can also store chemical nutrients in the soil so that it will be easily released when needed or taken by the roots of plants. Therefore, the use of wood charcoal and chaff charcoal can be one of the alternatives to improve the condition of planting media other than soil. This research aims to find out how the growth of kemiri seedlings (Aleurites moluccana (L). Willd) on growing media that added some types of charcoal. The study was conducted from September until November 2020, Located at bpdas-HL Palu Poso Nursery, located at Tadulako University, Tondo Village, Palu City, Central Sulawesi. The study used the Complete Random Design (RAL) method. The results showed that the addition of several types of charcoal to the growing media had a real effect on the increase in height, increase in diameter and number of leaves but had an unreal effect on the value of sowing sturdiness. The M3 treatment, namely (Soil + wood charcoal + husk charcoal), provides the best seed height increase with an average of 24.1 cm, an increase in the number of leaves with an average of 9.00 strands and an increase in the diameter of seedlings with an average of 3.12 mm and the value of scenic sturdiness of 8.37.
