Abstract

Interactions between society with forests have lasted long enough as they have benefited society’s lives. The society around the forest in the Sibedi Village depend mainly on livelihood from the agriculture sector. The limited knowledge and education that the Sibedi Village has by each family causes some poor communities to do forest propagation to manage the arable land and agriculture production areas. The research aims to know the interaction of communities with forest resources in Sibedi Village Marawola Sub-District Sigi Regency. The research was carried out for 2 months, from May to June 2021. Location of the research in Sibedi Village Marawola Sub-District Sigi Regency. The method used in this research is a survey method with an interview technique and an analysis using a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this research indicate that the high category of human interaction with the forest resources in Sibedi Village indicates that the level of dependency of the society in the Sibedi Village is well aware of the importance of forest resources. The society understand that the existence of forest resources can open the way for society to manage to make ends meet as a result of forest resource management.
